WWE Monday Night Raw News: Vince McMahon Rewrites, CM Punk Segments Cut, Big Show Absent

News

There were some interesting news bits coming out of WWE Monday Night Raw last night.

The script for Raw was re-written several times heading into the show. The original plan was to have a Elimination Chamber qualifying matches to fill out the participants in the Chamber match. Vince McMahon made the fall to switch to the six-man tag that ended up as the main event.

CM Punk was also booked for the show, in a qualifying match and also storyline/promo to continue his feud with Kane. However, Vince decided to put that off until next week, which also gave Punk a storyline week to sell the attack from Kane during the Rumble.

The Big Show was also kept off Raw, to sell storyline injuries stemming from his match with Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble. This was also the original plan, as Show flew home after the Rumble and was never at Raw, unlike Punk.
