TUF Nations (Canada vs. Australia) – Episode 3 “The Bible Thumber” (Chad Laprise vs. Chris Indich)

Features

We get a recap of last week’s episode, as always, and we get a quick introduction to Chad Laprise. He’s kind of religious … and by kind of religious he does the full bore reading Biblical verses on camera type.

Australia’s conditioning coach is Canadian and has worked with Cote and Laprise before, among others. Team Canada isn’t happy about, considering he’s trained half of Cote’s team. They call him out for wanting the TV fame from it/

House shenanigans ensue as the Australians mess with the moose heads. Team Canada isn’t impressed. We start to get some fight strategies now as it’s time to learn about the fighters.

Laprise is going to want to keep it standing. His first four wins in MMA were all via TKO by punches, so it’s not quite false advertising. Indich grew up a little poor and talks about his relationship with his father. Laprise feels good and is coming into this fight 100%. He wants to be a role model, apparently.

Both guys make weight without a problem.

It’s fight day and Laprise is quoting some Scripture. Yay.

Round 1: Laprise outworks the Australian on his feet for the first as Indich is content to stand in the pocket and trade. Laprise is doing a beautiful job countering him and using movement. 10-9 Laprise.

Mark Hominick thinks highly of Laprise, apparently.

Round 2: More of the same to start as Indich opts to go for the takedown repeatedly. Laprise defends beautifully and he’s lighting up Indich on his feet. Laprise 10-9, 20-18

Laprise gets the nod via decision and Canada is up 3-0.
