Two years ago, Ted became one of the biggest hits of the year. In the process of making hundreds of millions of dollars it also made Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane a very in-demand talent. He would later host the Oscars and both fans and Hollywood insiders wondered what he would do for an encore as a filmmaker.
They won’t have to wait much longer.
This summer he returns with a Western comedy – one he directs, produces, co-wrote and stars (this time in the flesh, instead of as talking teddy bear) – where he plays a cowardly sheep farmer, Albert, who finds himself a single man after his girlfriend leaves him when he drops out of a gunfight. (Perhaps he was experiencing a different kind of “High Noon”?) When a mysterious and beautiful woman (Charlize Theron) rides into town, she helps Albert find his courage and they begin to fall in love. But when her outlaw husband (Liam Neeson) arrives seeking revenge, Albert must put his newfound courage to the test.
Amanda Seyfried, Sarah Silverman, Giovanni Ribisi, and Neil Patrick Harris also star.
