Forever Evil #5 Spoilers: Death & Betrayal Plus What’s Next For Nightwing & Earth 3’s Crime Syndicate? (DC Comics New 52 In Review)

News, Spoilers

SPOILERS follow for Forever Evil #5. You have been warned.

Well, it would seem that again DC Comics spoiled a major development in one of its titles with its Forever Evil #5 preview.

The last page above from the preview was the key spoiler.

Sinestro does in fact kill the Earth 3 Crime Syndicate’s Power Ring (the evil Green Lantern doppleganger) in advance of his own ew ongoing series as part of DC Comics New 52’s April 2014 solicitations. This builds on the major cliffhanger from last month’s Forever Evil #4.

Power Ring is dispatched quite easily by Sinestro. Plus in the same pages we see the Secret Society’s first defection to Lex Luthor’s Injustice League.

In addition to Power Ring getting killed at the hands of Sinestro, Deathstroke defects for the Secret Society of Super-Villains to Lex Luthor’s Injustice League to take back Earth from the Crime Syndicate. What does Slade Wilson want in return?

Money! Like any decent mercenary would!

So, what happens to Power Ring’s host-less power ring now that he’s dead? Well, the Grid has the surprising answer.

In addition to Sinestro joining the Injustice League with Deathstroke, Black Manta also joins the resistance!

And, despite Batman and Catwoman aligning with this Injustice League, its interesting to see who is in charge. Tense moments between Batman, Lex Luthor and the that team with a stark realization at the end. Can Batman free Dick Grayson a.k.a. Nightwing with the help of these villains?

Now, this where the preview page above fits. It’s the penultimate page before Forever Evil #5 two-page cliffhanger.

Ultraman was right! The threat that devastated the Crime Syndicate’s Earth 3, has come to devastate the main Prime Earth of the New 52.
