By now you’ve probably seen the first trailer for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy (if you missed it – watch it here). While the trailer gives us our first glimpse at Chris Pratt as “Starlord” and allows us to see some of his ragtag group, we don’t get to meet them in full. To solve this, Marvel has made a few short featurettes about the characters for one of this summer’s most absurdly anticipated movie releases.
So without further ado, it’s time to Meet the Guardians of the Galaxy.
From the official synopsis:
- Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon; Groot, a tree-like humanoid; the deadly and enigmatic Gamora; and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand–with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.
With a talented ensemble consisting of Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista (WWE’s Batista), John C. Reilly, Benicio Del Toro and Djimon Hounsou, plus featuring the voices of Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper, director James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy looks to be the most absurdly addictive tentpole release this summer. It will fly into theaters on August 1, 2014.
