Hey fight fans … we’re live on SPIKE TV. I had planned on being here live but a bit of a stomach virus has kept me at home this evening. But I’m well enough to give you live PBP for the four fight main card.

Adam McDonough vs. Jesse Juarez

Round 1: Not much to start as both guys are being pretty patient. Juarez shoots in for a single and gets it but eats a big knee on the weigh in. He’s on that single deep, turns it into a double against the cage and works his takedown game from here. Juarez finally gets it, grabs an arm triangle and nearly finishes it. McDonough fought like hell to get out and eventually works his way up and out. Juarez right back on him and we’re back against the cage again. McDonough eventually gets the takedown and moves to mount quickly. McDonough is starting to land and grabs back with 10 seconds left, has the RNC but can’t finish it as the round ends. I think he stole the round with that final exchange. 10-9 McDonough

Round 2: Juarez with the takedown attempt early and McDonough stops him easy, holding a front headlock and landing some nice knees to the body from it. He eventually rolls and gives up his back, moves to rubber guard (looking for a triangle) but McDonough doesn’t fall into his trap and he gives it up. Pass by McDonough but he can’t get fully over, Juarez works his way back up and we’re standing. Juarez throwing some wild strikes but nothing landing. Juarez in deep on a single with about a minute left but can’t finish it. McDonough with a deep sprawl and rides the round out this way. 10-9 McDonough, 20-18

McDonough is looking to get both hooks in, as he only has the right one in at this point. He works it to a body triangle and now it’s hand fighting. Juarez flattened and McDonough is grinding him slowly, looking for the RNC. Juarez is fighting it off wonderfully but McDonough is being patient. Juarez to his stomach and then to his feet, eventually getting away. under two minutes left and he’s in on a single. He finishes it with a body lock and grabs back of his own. McDonough up and out but mat returned quickly. Juarez grabs back and starts pounding out McDonough. McDonough onto his back and Juarez is lighting him up, looking to grab a guillotine with 30 seconds left as McDonough rolls out. Round ends with McDonough on top. 10-9 McDonough, 30-27

Sam Oropeza vs. Cristiano Souza

Round 1: Sam is pressing the pace, forcing him to keep his feet moving so he can’t set his feet. Souza with a scissors takedown that misses but it allows him to get close enough for a body lock. Back against the cage and we’re there. Eventually Sam gives him some space and Souza lands some nice strikes. Sam gets close and Souza goes for a lateral drop that gets sniffed out, he rolls to his stomach and Sam’s on his back. He gets bucked off and we’re back standing. Big right and Souza is OUT!

Oropeza gets the TKO win at 3:06 of the first round

Round 1: Koreshkov being very active early to prevent Burrell from planting his feet. Lands a HUGE body kick and Burrell is down, punched out and it’s academic.

Strauss is fighting it off well with his posture. Curran with some knees to the arm as he moves to the back and Strauss stands up. We’re against the cage in a body clinch. Not much action as we’re grappling for position. Curran nearly gets the trip and Strauss grabs a front choke with 20 seconds left but Curran is out and up. Goes for it again with 10 seconds and time runs out. WILD first round. Curran 10-9

Strauss goes for the kill but can’t land the coffin nail, Curran back up and he’s bleeding. Curran lands a big shot of his own and a big flurry, Strauss back up. Both guys are looking for flurries right now as both are throwing en masse and then stopping; it’s a herky-jerky kind of feeling. Strauss with a nice left of his own as this is an interesting fight so far. Strauss is looking to throw a wild overhand each time Curran gets close and Curran has figured it out. Both guys are trying to dart in and out with flurries, landing a nice first but not a fight finishing flurry. 10-9 Strauss, 19-19

Curran comes out wiht some nice short punches as Strauss is answering him by opening up his offense. Curran is looking for the counter and is landing some nice uppercuts as Strauss charges in. Kick caught by Strauss but Curran balances his way out. Strauss is trying to get inside but Curran is doing a good job responding with uppercuts to the inside whenever he gets close. Curran’s fighting significantly better and smarter this time around. 10-9 Curran, 38-38

Round 5: Strauss in on a single early but can’t finish as we’re against the cage. Not much action as Curran reverses him and we get a break 80 seconds in to get some excess vasoline out. Curran landing some nice counters as Strauss is getting tagged more this round than in the past. Curran is really turning up the volume this round, outlanding Strauss with nice combinations. He’s working the body and moving up, using a nice combination of kicks and punches. He looks terrific right now. He’s got the back and has the RNC. Strauss is defending well as Curran doesn’t have the choke all the way in. He’s working it slowly but surely and he’s got it. 20 seconds left and he taps.
