CB’s WrestleMania 30 Match Preview: Randy Orton vs. Batista vs. Triple H or Daniel Bryan for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

News, Top Story

At WrestleMania 30 in New Orleans this Sunday 4/6/14, Randy Orton will have to defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a Triple Threat Match against Batista and either Daniel Bryan or Triple H.

(For my thoughts on the Triple H vs. Daniel Bryan match that will decide the third member of this Triple Threat main event match at WrestleMania XXX, click here.)

Now, before I give my thoughts on this showdown, I just wanted to point out the difference between Batista’s and Randy Orton’s performances at the WrestleMania 30 press conference that took place yesterday morning:

At the very least, Batista has a little bit of self-awareness and self-deprecation that I appreciate. Orton, meanwhile, delivered such a canned speech that it just came off as if he was a generically programmed robot. What happened to those acting classes he took? Jeez.

Anyway, I am thrilled that this title match will be a Triple Threat instead of the original Batista vs. Orton plan that backfired before it even got started.

If Daniel Bryan beats Triple H and enters this match, we all know it will be much better than the alternative.

However, if for some reason HHH does beat Bryan and they actually run with the match of ex-Evolution brethren, the crowd reaction will be so loud and so negative that it would be fascinating to watch in that regard.

At the end of the day, I do think this will be Daniel Bryan’s night all the way, and by the time WrestleMania 30 wraps up, we will all be chanting YES! right along with the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
