WWE Tag Team Championship Fatal-4-Way Match
The Usos (c) vs. Rybaxel vs. The Real Americans vs. Los Matadores

Bodies. Flying.  Everywhere.  This has been a great way to start the pre-show.  Los Matadores and Rybaxel are eliminated early on.  High-flying tactics and smooth tag-team chemistry keeps The Usos alive as they eliminate The Real Americans.

Cesaro and Swagger turn on each other and we see The Real Americans dissolve…

Cesaro ends the whole thing with The Swing!

WINNERS, and STILL WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS – The Usos

Hulk Hogan resurrects the Silverdome.  The three most popular Superstars of All-Time were in the ring together.  The Rock.   Stone Cold Steve Austin.  The Immortal Hulk Hogan.  And they all shared a beer together!

The Final Chance: Winner Moves Into The Main Event Triple Threat

Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H

What’s up with the boots, Bryan?!

Daniel Bryan comes to the ring first heavily bandaged.  Triple H approaches the ring in heavy gold regalia and is introduced by Stephanie McMahon.  The Game offers the sarcastic handshake and is knocked out of the ring by Bryan.  Bryan  extends his own sarcastic handshake from inside the ring to Triple H who is still outside the ring.  Triple H, back in the ring, regains control with a series of back-body drops and cross-faced chicken wings.  Bryan’s shoulder is being worked to the bone. Bryan is channeling the power of the movement and fights back.  Two flights over the ropes outside of the ring onto The Game.  Repeated missile-drop kicks.  Back and forth submission holds between the two men.  Triple H silences Bryan with a pedigree.  Bryan kicks out.  The Game attempts the pedigree two more times bit can’t seem to hit it, then a flying missile to the face from Bryan to Triple H get Bryan the 3-Count!

Winner: Daniel Bryan

The Suits Meet The Shield
Kane & The New Age Outlaws vs. The Shield

The New Age Outlaws make their way to the ring and are interrupted by The Shield’s entrance music.  The match was short-lived as JBL put it “Goodbye to the Attitude Era”.  As Kane was knocked out of the ring, a two man powerbomb by three men on the New Age Outlaws seals the deal.

Winners: The Shield

Bonus Segment:  Sergeant Slaughter and Hacksaw Jim Duggan play with and promote Slam City toys and are joined by Ricky The Dragon Steamboat and the Million Dollar Man and were finished off by a resounding DAMN! from Ron Simmons.

The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal
Dolph Ziggler vs. Sheamus vs. Big Show vs. Big E vs. Fandango vs. Alberto del Rio vs. Christian vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Jinder Mahal vs. Heath Slater vs. Mark Henry vs. Zack Ryder vs. The Miz vs. Titus O’Neil vs. Damien Sandow vs. Darren Young vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Goldust vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Brodus Clay vs. Justin Gabriel vs. R-Truth vs. Santino Marella vs. The Great Khali vs. Sin Cara vs. Four Unknown Entrants

Brad Maddox is the first eliminated.  Plenty of teaming up and factions in between.  Cesaro is the key guy for eliminations.  Kofi Kingston was thrown over the top rope but landed on his back while his feet did not hit the floor.  Kofi gets the spin from Cesaro and is eliminated.  Dolph Ziggler gets to show off for a little bit then is promptly kicked in the chin and out of the ring.  Alberto del Rio and Shaemus eliminate each other.  The last two men in the ring are Cesaro and the Big Show.  The last man eliminated is Big Show.  The Swiss Superman picks him up and holds him just to drop him out of the ring!!

Winner: Cesaro

The Battle for Legacy
John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt

A dancing gypsy sets the tone of the match just before the Wyatt’s blow out the lantern.  A live band plays The Wyatt Family theme music.  The start of the match sees Bray Wyatt drop to his knees and begs John Cena to become “The Monster he is” and to “Finish” him.  “Let’s-Go-Cena…Let’s-Go-Wyatts” chants start early on.  Bray controls the match in the beginning but Cena soon fights back and becomes super-aggressive Cena.  Cena then becomes conflicted and Bray capitalizes.  As the morbid ring-psychology of Wyatt continues throughout the match.  A Bray Wyatt sleeper-hold has John Cena even more worn down.  A surge of positive-Cena comes around but is stopped in it’s tracks by seeing Bray Wyatt arch up like “A Giant Spider” according to Jerry Lawler.  John Cena recoups, tries a high-risk maneuver from the top-rope and is caught in mid-air by Bray Wyatt.  Again, the back and forth Super-Cena to the Buzzard Conjurer continues until the pinnacle of the match in which John Cena reverses a top-rope suplex and instead of countering by jumping on Bray, he launches himself onto Harper and Rowan to the outside of the ring.  This leads to multiple steel steps exchanges and the evening’s first AA hit by Cena.  A cheap kick by Harper and a running back-splash later, Cena kicks out again to seek revenge and tackles Harper through a ringside barricade.  Bray Wyatt is then quickly put into the STF.  A rope break.  Bray Wyatt hits his finisher and Cena kicks out which infuriates Wyatt.  Cena is offered a Chair from Wyatt, refuses it, hits an AA and take the win.

Winner: John Cena

WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2014 is presented:

Jake The Snake, Mr. T, Paul Bearer, Carlos Colon, Lita, Razor Ramon, and The Ultimate Warrior (gets his own theme music and entrance)

Backstage- Daniel Bryan’s shoulder is being examined by WWE staff.

Michael Cole claims that New Orleans is the culinary capital of the world and claims to have eaten something called “Jham-bal-ayuh”.  I wonder if he meant jambalaya?

Segway to  The Beast vs. The Streak
Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker

Brock Lesnar’s music hits first as he comes to the ring to challenge The Wrestlemania Streak of the The Undertaker.  The hauntingly Gregorian chant like music begins with opening views of caskets for those who have been taken under by the streak.  The black hat and trench coat emerge from the smoke as The Phenom makes his way to the ring. Taker strikes first with a few quick jabs then Lesnar retaliates with power.  Puts Taker out of the ring and it’s a back and forth battle.  Lesnar stops the first attempt at Taker’s old-school walking the ropes.  Smash-cut to “Vintage” Taker (a la Michael Cole) with a leg drop off the apron.  A choke-slam is attempted and reversed by Lesnar.  An F5 is the rebuttal but thwarted by the Deadman.  The match is constantly taken from the inside of the ring to the outside of the ring as submission holds and suplexes dominate the match.  The mat wrestling takes over and continues the story of this match.  A surge from The Undertaker brings forth snake-eyes and a high-boot then a choke-slam only for a two-count.  Counter from Lesnar.  An F5 is hit.  Taker kicks out after two.  Lesnar was suckered into Hell’s Gate by Taker which is broken and turned into a psuedo-powerbomb by Lesnar.  Taker draws Lesnar into Hell’s Gate once again, same result.  This time the powerbomb was higher.  Both competitors are reeling and Lesnar goes with the komodo-lock which is then reversed by Taker.  The old-school tight rope walk is initiated by Taker then quickly turned into a second F5, Taker kicks out after two and a half.  Lesnar has Taker in the corner but is quickly taken for a Last-Ride.  Tombstone Piledriver is hit.  Lesnar kicks out at two.  Taker picks Lesnar up for another Tombstone.  Lesnar counters.  Hits another F5.  Lesnar covers.  Three-count.   Every single person in the crowd is in disbelief.  21-1.  R.I.P. to the Streak.

Winner: Brock Lesnar

The crowd is peppered with a few marks here and there booing Taker and telling him he sucks.  Most everyone in the building is cheering him on.  I think Taker is retiring for good this time.  He’s going out on his back.  Maybe he was just tired.

Vickie Guerrero Divas Championship Invitational
AJ Lee (c) vs. Naomi vs. Cameron vs. Nikki Bella vs. Brie Bella vs. Natalya vs. Summer Rae vs. Eva Marie vs. Rosa Mendez vs. Aksana vs. Alicia Fox vs. Tamina Snuka vs. Emma vs. Layla

Vickie Guerrero screams like a banshee and laughs like an evil Disney movie witch.  Why? Anyways, there a Divas match. We see   AJ Lee wins after the Bellas turn on each other.

Winner: AJ Lee

Backstage- Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff bury the hatchet with Mr. T and Hulk Hogan.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Triple Threat Match
Randy Orton (c) vs. Batista vs. Daniel Bryan

Extreme Rules on May 4th is plugged.

Randy Orton comes out to a live band first.  Batista is second.  Daniel Bryan comes last.  Wounded.  Bryan starts off with a missile drop-kick to Randy Orton.  Bryan reverses a Batistabomb with a hurricanrana.  The match goes and stays outside of the ring for several minutes of the match.  Back in the ring.  Daniel Bryan dishes out an off the top rope double missile drop kick.  The Authority comes out.  Triple H yanks the referee out of the ring.  Scott Armstrong comes in at the order of Triple H and Stephanie.  Daniel Bryan bullets himself out onto the three of them.  Stephanie is in the fray and injured.  Triple H is livid and tries to come in the ring with a sledgehammer.  Daniel Bryan uses it on The Game before it gets used on him.  Bryan’s shoulder is now exposed.  Batista and Orton team up.  Remove the monitors, its time for a Batistabomb into an RKO through the announcers’ table.  Bryan is carried out on a stretcher.  Through sheer tyranny of will, Daniel Bryan hoists himself off the stretcher and back to ring.  Hits the YES Lock on Batista then is broken by The Viper.    Bryan is out of the picture for a moment and Batista is hit with an RKO.  Batista kicks out.  Orton is hit with the big knee from Bryan then he makes Batista tap with the YES Lock!!!!

Winner and NEW WWE World Heavyweight Champion:  Daniel Bryan

Now, the obligatory video montage.

I like to talk about pro-wrestling. I love comic books and movies. I used to work in a popular video rental store chain. These are things that are facts. My column talks about the past, present and future of pro-wrestling. That sounded too prolific...I...I just like talking about pro-wrestling and stuff.
