That’s right, tonight on Impact Wrestling, EY won a 10-Man Gauntlet Match to become the #1 Contender to Magnus’ title.
Then, with an injured shoulder and all, Eric Young decided he wanted his title shot tonight and MVP granted him the match.
The stipulation was that Magnus would lose the title if DQ’d or counted out, and MVP threatened to fire anyone who tried to interfere in the match.
At the end of the night, and after 10 long years, Eric Young nailed Magnus with a Piledriver to capture the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
CB’s Slant: Despite the obvious comparisons to Daniel Bryan’s night at WrestleMania XXX that TNA kind of ripped from the headlines, I’m happy for EY after all the crazy stuff he’s had to do for TNA over the years. Kudos to him for that.
