CB Asks: If Not Brock Lesnar, then Who Should Have Broken THE STREAK? Plus Imagine if CM Punk Won Last Year?

News, Top Story

For the past two weeks, I have heard many people complain about The Undertaker’s WrestleMania Streak being broken by Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX. However, the question I would like to pose to you is…

If not Brock Lesnar, then WHO should have broken THE STREAK?

Of course, some folks also think THE STREAK should have never been broken and that The Undertaker should have won his last match at a WrestleMania of his choosing and then retired with it intact.

To me, however, Taker seems like an old school, “pass the torch” kind of guy, so I am not surprised to see him lose.

I also wonder what would have happened if CM Punk actually broke THE STREAK last year at WrestleMania 29 at MetLife Stadium, and how that may or may not have prevented Punk from walking out on WWE this past January.

Was Punk always going to leave WWE like this no matter what, or would that sort of transcendent booking to break THE STREAK been enough for Punk to stay?

Of course, he probably would have been booked better by WWE Creative in the months following Mania 29, but it is interesting to think about whether or not CM Punk would have broken THE STREAK and used that as leverage with WWE when he didn’t like something he was being told to do.

As for what I think, I was on record saying that Daniel Bryan would have been an interesting pick, but I am glad his trajectory to the top of the card finally ended how it should at WrestleMania XXX, with him as WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
