The day after Jon Pardy was named the winner of Big Brother Canada 2, I headed back to the backyard to do extended interviews with the entire cast. I caught up with Jury Member #1, Arlie Shaban, to talk about about a variety of topics. I started by asking Arlie if there was a part of him that was disappointed that a non-superfan like Jon bested a game that he had dedicated his life to winning. When I asked Arlie to critique Sabrina’s game, I was surprised that he didn’t see it in the same way that I did but this made for an interesting analysis. As a fan of the show, I knew that Arlie probably had a complete strategy in mind before entering the house and I quizzed him about how much he had to change when Sabrina basically forced the First Five on him. My favourite part of the interview is when Arlie admits that his game did change after Adel won the Buzzworthy competition. I brought up Heather and told Arlie that it shocked me that he was the only one to align with Heather (along with Adel) at the beginning of the game since she was an easy extra vote and Arlie talked about how that was always a struggle for him as he was never quite sure of where Heather’s allegiances truly were. This interview was easily one of the best ones that I conducted during this season of Big Brother Canada 2 and offers a lot of insight into the game. Check it out above!
