Rosario Dawson joins Netflix’s Daredevil Cast

Casting News, News

As the announced Netflix Marvel based series’ approach production, more and more casting news continues to pop up. The most recent in Rosario Dawson joining Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil) and Vincent D’Onofrio (The Kingpin) for Daredevil.

While the name of her character has not been announced, the official release stated she would be playing “a dedicated young woman whose quest to heal the wounds of Hell’s Kitchen brings Matt Murdock unexpectedly crashing into her life”.

When one thinks of strong female roles in the world of Daredevil, the first that comes to mind is Elektra (previously played by Jennifer Garner in the Daredevil movie starring Ben Affleck and the Elektra spin-off), however this description doesn’t sound exactly like the Elektra from the films. Will Netflix be taking some license with the character, or do they have someone else in mind entirely for Dawson to play?

Either way, this is shaping up to be a good cast and certainly has the potential to be a great show, which is set to be released on Netflix some time in 2015. Netflix is also developing shows for Jessica Jones and Luke Cage and Iron Fist, with a The Defenders miniseries to follow, potentially bring all these characters together.
