Superman #32 Spoilers & Review: Marvel Comics’ John Romita Jr. Makes Big DC Comics New 52 Splash With Ulysses A.K.A. The New Superman & Geoff Johns

News, Spoilers, Top Story

I’ve been pretty excited about this book since it was announced that Marvel Comics’ top flight artist John Romita Jr. would be joining DC Comics Chief Creative Office and industry writer heavyweight Geoff Johns on the ongoing Superman New 52 series. That initial announcement included cool teaser art and an introductory video to kick this off.

Well, Superman #32 hit stands today and it marks the beginning of Romita and Johns’ journey.

Superman #32 spoilers and capsule review follow.

Well, DC Comics has upped the price for this issue to $3.99 and inundated readers with multiple variant covers.

The free preview for Superman #32 revealed something interesting about an observer or instigator in the issue. It appears Superman’s early training was by this obscured fellow.

Hitting the actual issue, Superman tackles a pretty large threat, but gets an assist from DC Comics New 52’s “New Superman” Ulysses!

Just who is Ulysses?

He believed himself the last survivor of the doomed planet… Earth?! What gives?

Loved the art of the book and that the book begins right in the thick of action. Geoff Johns is a good pairing for John Romita Jr. as they both do big, bold super-heroes well.
