CB’s Slant: SummerSlam Lull

Columns, Top Story

I get it, Brock Lesnar is back.

And I get it, he’s facing John Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam.

But that doesn’t mean I am excited about it.

The most exciting / buzz-worthy thing that happened on Raw this week was Stephanie McMahon getting storyline arrested.

But does any of that make SummerSlam better when it’s simply leading to a fire with Brie Bella and a likely Nikki Bella heel turn?

As for the rest of SummerSlam, outside of The Usos vs. The Wyatts for the tag titles and Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose in “culmination of feud” matches, there’s just not anything I am craving to see.

Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton? I guess.

The Miz vs. Sheamus? Ummm, OK.

Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods vs. “THE MAN”? No thanks.

It just seems like we’ve hit a SummerSlam lull, and that is definitely not what’s best for business.

That’s all from me — CB.
