Matt Brown Takes To Social Media To Condemn Fans Who Thought He Faked Groin Injury In Lawler Fight

While Mike Brown might be battered and bruised, he certain isn’t beaten.

After losing a close fight to Robbie Lawler on Saturday, the fighter commented on a low blow that hit him during the match. While referee John McCarthy stopped the match momentarily to ensure that Brown was able to continue, on replay it seemed like Lawler had legally struck Brown’s midsection.

Brown said that fans who thought he faked the injury to secure an advantage over the new #1 welterweight contender were sorely mistaken.

“First off thanks to ‪#‎theimmortalarmy‬ for your constant support.

Second off I’ve read some things saying that said I faked the nut shot. I would never do that in my f—— life. That’s bullshit. Period. End of story.
Third I want to say check out our podcast Legit Man Shit very soon for my personal fight recap.”

The fighter posted on his Facebook page.

McCarthy also defended his call at the time and chose Twitter to get his message across.

“For information, the kick thrown by Robbie was legal, his shin moved Matt Browns cup, you could hear it, that’s why Matt was given a moment.”
