TVLine has confirmed that Arrow has cast J.R. Ramirez (Emily Owens) as Ted “Wildcat” Grant. The character from the DC Comics is a former boxer who runs a gym for underprivileged youth in Starling City.
In the comics, Wildcast was a member of the Justice Society of America and trained various crimefighters including… Black Canary (Laurel’s alter ego). It is unclear if that is the same direction that Arrow writers will take Wildcat in as Laurel’s sister has assumed the Black Canary responsibilities up to this point, but it is certainly an interesting development.
