Kevin Casey & Robert Drysdale Suspended After Failing Drug Tests

On the heels of decisions about Vitor Belfort and Chael Sonnen with regard to their positive drug tests, it appears two more fighters are in hot water over the same issue.

Light heavyweight Robert Drysdale and middleweight Kevin Casey both failed drugs after The Ultimate Fighter 19 finale and UFC 175 respectively.

Drysdale who secured a submission victory over Kevin Berish at The Ultimate Fighter 19 finale was initially flagged for having an elevated testosterone-to-epitestosterone (T/E) level according to Deputy Attorney General Chris Eccles. In addition, the Nevada attorney general’s office also confirmed today that Casey (1-1) tested positive for drostanolone (steroid) after he knocked Bubba Bush out in the first round.

UFC middleweight Kevin Casey and light heavyweight Robert Drysdale failed drug tests following UFC 175 and The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale, MMAjunkie learned today.

The test is the first one where Casey had a positive result while this is Drysdale’s second failure after the NSAC refused to clear him to fight at UFC 167 for the same issue.

Both fighters are temporarily suspensions pending a formal hearing on the failures. According to MMAJunkie.com, they face formal suspension, fines and the overturning of their respective wins.
