New Ultimate Fighter Killer Joe Lauzon Ready To Put Down Another TUF Winner In Michael Chiesa

Joe Lauzon is starting to develop a reputation as being the guy you lose to after you win The Ultimate Fighter.

After defeating Season 6 winner Mac Danzig in his last match, Lauzon (10-6) is set to meet Season 15 champion Michael Chiesa (4-1) at UFC Fight Night 50 in Connecticut on September 5.

While Lauzon once competed on the show himself, he ultimately came up short as Nate Diaz ended up earning himself the six-figure contract. To this day, the 30-year old fighter still believes it was the best season of the reality series to date.

“I just beat Mac Danzig who won ‘The Ultimate Fighter,’ at 170,” Lauzon told MMAjunkie Radio. “Chiesa won ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ at 155. I tell people all the time, my season, Season 5, we had the best guys, period. You could argue maybe Season 1 was good too, they had a lot of studs, but Season 5 of The Ultimate Fighter was supreme.

Lauzon says he feels like everytime he beats the winner of another season, it proves the quality of the opponents he beat on his season of The Ultimate Fighter.

You could argue maybe Season 1 was good too, they had a lot of studs, but Season 5 of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ was supreme. They gave me a list of a couple guys, and Chiesa was one of the guys. I thought, ‘I just beat a guy who won ‘TUF,’ let’s get another one and establish our season as the best.”
