Nashville has inked a new deal with a former Nurse Jackie star for a multi-episode arc.
Laura Benanti will join the ABC drama and play Sadie Stone, a rising star in the Nashville music scene who befriends Rayna (Connie Britton). It is expected that their relationship will start off great, but that the two will start to feud as the season wears on.
It is also expected that Benanti will sing on the show as she co-starred in NBC’s musical remake of The Sound Of Music last year. The actress also has a host of appearances on her resume as she appeared on Law & Order, Go On and The Playboy Club
Nashville’s third season premieres Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 10 p.m. on ABC.
