Two recent winners in UFC’s newest division have been tapped to meet each other.
After defeating Finland’s Tina Lahdemaki in the organization’s first-ever women’s strawweight fight at UFC Fight Night 45 on July 16, Claudia Gadelha (1-0) was praised by Dana White for her entertaining style, despite the match not being televised.
Last week, Polish striking sensation Joanna Jedrzejczyk scored a unanimous decision over Brazil’s Juliana Lima (0-1) and now it appears that the two victors will meet.
The strawweight elimination match between Jedrzejczyk and Gadelha is expected to take place later this year with the winner getting to challenge the winner of The Ultimate Fighter 20 to crown a new strawweight champion.
