When we last left the cast of Chicago Fire a major explosion left the future of many in doubt.
Boden married Donna before she delivered their baby and Casey also proposed to Dawson. Before she could respond, an emergency forced them all away and the episode ended with the entire team trapped inside of a burning building.
When the show returns, the explosion will take the life of one of the show’s series regulars. The season premiere is described as “emotional” and star Yuri Sardarov says it will be a game-changer. “There will be many tears at the end of it,” he said to TVGuide.com. The death will bring Casey and Severide closer together, but possibly isolate Boden, who must balance his sorrow and guilt with his new marriage and new baby.
A new firefighter named Newhouse will join the team.
Chicago Fire returns to NBC on September 23 at 10 p.m.
