Breaking News: Bellator To Announce Signings Of Gina Carano & Marloes Coenen Tomorrow?

News

The MMA community is used to shocking news, but this one might take the cake for 2014.

The rumor mill is swirling that Bellator has signed a deal with the highly-sought after Gina Carano, and plan on adding the Strikeforce vet to their women’s bantamweight division. The same reports indicate that Bellator has also come to terms with another former Strikeforce fighter in Marloes Coenen.

The news would be a major blow to UFC who have been working on a deal with Carano for months in preparation for a title match between the actress and current champion Ronda Rousey.

The news comes on the heels of suspicious tweets from Bellator middleweight contender Brian Rogers and MMA manager Hector Castro, with the latter definitively saying that both Carano and Coenen have signed with the upstart promotion.

Apparently, negotiations between Carano and UFC President Dana White had hit an unknown snag. A few weeks ago, MMAFighting.com reported that talks were doing better but apparently they took a turn for the worse.
