My Thoughts: WWE SummerSlam 2014 (John Cena vs Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton vs Roman Reigns, Stephanie McMahon vs Brie Bella)

~ Rob Van Dam beats Cesaro cleanly with the 5 Star Frog Splash. Read that sentence again and tell me what’s wrong with it.

~ My Xbox 360 feed was constantly buffering or entirely exiting out of the show. Couldn’t “Retry” to entire the feed as it would just exit out again. Now I’m in the office watching SummerSlam on my computer just waiting for this to crash too.

~ And now I’ve missed two matches and two title changes. To say I’m pissed would be an understatement.

~ Decent “big man” match between Swagger and Rusev. But where do these guys go from here…?

~ And now the matchup is 1 to 1 and I’m even more intrigued to see the final chapter of the Jericho/Wyatt story & feel much more justified that Jericho winning their first in the feud was absolutely the best idea.

~ Very good match between Stephanie and Brie Bella. It was as if Stephanie had been at least working a part-time schedule and not completely retired for over 10 years. They were able to get the emotional storyline across, including Nikki’s turn, and were also given a small preview of the eventual Triple H/Daniel Bryan match.

~ A slower match than I expected but a fantastic showcase of what Randy Orton is still capable of given the right opponent and that Roman Reigns is able to be a major singles star. From the incredible superplex, that awesome powerslam off of the spear attempt, kicking out of RKO which rarely happens if your name isn’t John Cena and finally the wicked spear. I love the fact that Reigns’ spear is more about height & contact and not aiming for the abdomen. It makes the move look so much more devastating.

~ WOW, that was a great brawl and a FANTASTIC false finish to kick off the main event. Brock Lesnar is like a real life video game troll. He’s just going to German Suplex Cena until Cena’s health is low enough to pin him. One of the greatest beatings we’ve seen in WWE this year and in the end they created an unbeatable heel WWE World Heavyweight Champion in Brock Lesnar. And now we know it takes 16 German Suplexes to beat John Cena. Remember that with WWE 2K15 is released.
