Jordan Mein Says His Father’s Arrest Didn’t Affect His Psyche Prior To Win Over Mike Pyle

News

Jordan Mein didn’t want to elaborate too much about what his family went through hours before his UFC Fight 49 match-up.

The welterweight fighter’s father and cornerman James Lee Mein was arrested and charged with sexual battery before Friday’s weigh-ins in Tulsa. He was released on bond just before the fight on Saturday morning.

At the post-fight press conference, reporters asked Mein if the distractions affected his pre-match routine before his co-main event bout with Mike Pyle.

“No, not at all,” Mein said Saturday night.

If he was in any way affected, he certainly didn’t show it in the Octagon. the 24-year-old Canadian quickly finished Pyle, scoring a first-round KO and earning a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus.
