With Bisping & Rockhold Set To Meet, List Of Dance Partners For Lyoto Machida Is Short

One of the most competitive divisions in the UFC is its middleweight class as champion Chris Weidman waits to defend his title against Vitor Belfort in December.

The problem is that there just aren’t enough fights to go around.

Lyoto Machida is coming of a decision loss against the champion in July and despite being ranked No. 2 in the division, he will have to wait to fight Luke Rockhold. Rockhold is set to do battle with Michael Bisping and even Machida is reportedly resigned to knowing that won’t change.

With Ronaldo Souza (No. 4) getting set to fight Gegard Mousasi (No. 7) on Sept. 5 in Connecticut, and Yoel Romero (No. 10) vs. Tim Kennedy (No. 6) set for UFC 178 in late September, Machida is eying the only other available guy in the top ten: C.B. Dollaway.

UFC Tonight reports that the Machida camp seems to think that Dollaway is the only opponent that makes sense at the current time.
