After Losing Third Fight In A Row, Lorenz Larkin Announces He Will Move To Welterweight Division

News

Lorenz Larkin has thrown in the towel.

After starting his career as a light heavyweight, Larkin moved to middleweight in 2012 but hasn’t found the success that he was looking for. It appears he is ready to shift weight classes once again.

Larkin (1-4 UFC), who last fought at 185 pounds, suffered his third straight loss at UFC 177 on Saturday when Derek Brunson (3-1 UFC) beat him by unanimous decision.

After racking up 13 straight wins to start his career, a streak that included wins over the likes of Robbie Lawler and Gian Villante in Strikeforce, Larkin has dropped off with four losses in five UFC appearances.

“Sorry everybody but I think it’s my time to listen to my coaches and team and drop to 170 sorry about the fight,” Larkin on Monday said on his Twitter account.
