While many UFC insiders were expecting a Bisping and Rockhold fight announcement, Dana White had other ideas and is on the verge of announcing a fight between Rockhold and Lyoto Machida.
As a result, Bisping has a clean docket… at least he did. Upon hearing that his fight with Rockhold was put on hold, Thales Leites seized the opportunity to call out Bisping.
“Bisping is a tough fighter, does great fights. He fights for a long time, does exciting fights. He’s well ranked, has a big name, and I think it’s would be great if we fight,” Leites told MMAFighting.com. “It can be in Brazil or in England. I think it would be an interesting fight.”
Leites scored a knockout over Francis Carmont at UFC Fight Night 49, his fourth win in a year since returning to the UFC.
