On Friday, I had the chance to catch up with David Morrissey who played the Governor on The Walking Dead at Fan Expo Canada.
We chatted about a variety of topics including how hard it is to leave behind a character as popular as the Governor. I also asked Morrissey about how difficult it was to wear the eyepatch that his character became synonymous for and the different layers of the Governor’s personality. While there is no doubt that he was the primary villain on the show, his justification for why he was doing what he was doing (protecting his family) seemed quite reasonable and David opened up about capturing both sides of him. I asked the actor if it was tough not being included on the show’s upcoming fifth season and if he would have liked to have been a part of the new Terminus storyline. Morrissey also talked about what he plans on working on in the post-Governor phase of his career.
Finally, I told Morrissey that Fan Expos are about two things for me. Meeting hot chicks and killing zombies. I asked him for some help with the second.
