On Wednesday, I had the chance to catch up with Deliverance Creek‘s Chris Backus at the So You Think You Can Dance 11 finale in Los Angeles.
The actor discussed Deliverance Creek, the new Nicholas Sparks TV movie that he is working on and introduced it as a period drama that is set in 1863 that revolves around “the social and political fire that is burning on a border town and at the center of it is Belle Gatlin Barlow (played by Lauren Ambrose) and she’s caught in the center when her brother comes over to shake up the country.”
In the movie, Backus plays Jasper Gatlin, a character who serves as a nod to legendary outlaw Jesse James and described by Backus as a “Southern confederate bushwhacking wildman.”
We also talked about how Backus, his wife (Mira Sorvino) and their kids have been fans of So You Think Dance franchise since its inception and what they thought about Ricky Ubeda winning.
