On Tuesday at a UFC red carpet event in support of the 20th season of The Ultimate Fighter, women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey was asked to comment on the Ray Rice domestic abuse situation.
“I just saw that last night,” said Rousey. “I saw it last night with the sound off. I was watching it and I was like, ‘What the hell am I watching? Is this SportsCenter? I couldn’t even believe my eyes and when I heard that they were still [together]. I mean, I’m just going to say that probably was not the wisest decision.”
Rousey also delivered a message to women upon request.
“What would I say? It is a really really tough question. For women, I think you just need to respect yourself and see what you’re worth and really know what you’re worth. Unfortunately I think a lot of women undersell themselves and they don’t know how much they really deserve. I know for a fact that that woman deserves more that what she believes.”
