Martin Stapleton Ready To Return To Bellator, Says He Feels ‘No Pressure’ Ahead Of Friday Fight Against Goiti Yamauchi

News

Martin Stapleton is ready to return to professional MMA competition.

The British featherweight dubbed ‘.50 Cal’ (13-3) faces Goiti Yamauchi (17-2) at Bellator 125.

While the Brit is still looking for his first win in the organization, he is riding a win streak after earning a submission in a June contest in the UK. Stapleton last fought for Bellator in the fall of 2013 and says that the reasons for his absence have now been dealt with.

“He’s experienced, he’s boxed professional and he’s a BJJ black belt. I’ve seen a lot of his fights but I am not really focused on him, I am focused on what I am doing,” he tells Bloody Elbow.

“There’s no pressure, I don’t feel pressure. I am doing this for myself, nobody else. I literally couldn’t give a shit what anybody else thinks. I am doing this for myself because I want to fight and I love to do it, so there is no pressure.”
