After knocking out Derrick Lewis at UFC Fight Night 50, Matt Mitrione has his eyes on a bigger prize.
UFC Tonight reports that Mitrione is eyeing a match against Andrei Arlovski next. Arlovski was also a recent winner, finishing Antonio Silva last weekend at UFC Fight Night 50.
A match-up between the pair makes sense as both are looking to challenge Cain Velasquez for the heavyweight belt. While Mitrione was initially looking to take on Alistair Overeem, given Overeem’s recent losing streak, he said that a win against Arlovski was a chance to “really put something together here” and move into the heavyweight rankings.
