Robin Willims arrived in the national consciousness as Mork, an alien eager to kidnap Richie Cunningham on Happy Days. He proved a worthy opponent for the Fonz. This immediately earned him his own TV series that included a kinder Mork and a cute girlfriend in Mindy. Mork & Mindy was a major success and made Robin Williams an icon. It’s been nearly 7 years since the third season of the series beamed down into videostores. Fans were left clamoring for the final season which featured the arrival of Jonathan Winters as Mork & Mindy’s son. People stared at the stars eager for any message from space. The news has finally arrived that on December 9th Mork & Mindy: The Complete Series touches down on DVD. HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – Starring Robin Williams in his best known television role, MORK & MINDY: THE COMPLETE SERIES will be available for the first time ever on DVD December 9 from CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Media Distribution.

Also starring Pam Dawber as Mindy, Mork & Mindy was nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards for “Outstanding Comedy Series” and “Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series” (for Williams) during its first season. MORK & MINDY: THE COMPLETE SERIES includes the show’s fourth season, never-before-released on DVD, a favorite for many fans as it includes unforgettable performances from legendary comedian and Williams’ idol, Jonathan Winters. MORK & MINDY: THE FOURTH SEASON will also be released separately December 9.

In addition to all four seasons being restored, both releases will include the two episodes from the TV series Happy Days, which “hatched” the Mork character.

“The manic brilliance of Robin Williams was a gift that the world enjoyed for nearly 40 years,” said Ken Ross, president of CBS Home Entertainment. “We hope this commemoration of one of our first glimpses into that genius can be a significant part of the many tributes to his legacy.”

The story centers on Mork (Williams), a clueless but good-hearted alien, who is sent from his home planet of Ork to Earth in order to learn about humans. His ship lands near Boulder, Colorado, where he is befriended by Mindy (Dawber) who puts Mork up in her attic while he learns about human foibles and makes nightly reports to his boss Orson about his discoveries.

Written to accommodate Williams’ improvised dialogue and physical comedy, Mork & Mindy featured numerous noteworthy guest stars including John Larroquette, William Shatner, Paul Reubens, Barbara Billingsley, Roddy McDowall, Raquel Welch, Henry Winkler, Penny Marshall and David Letterman, among others. It aired from 1978-1982.

The 15-disc DVD collection includes all four seasons with 95 restored episodes, and will be available in 4×3 Full Screen Format with English Mono. MORK & MINDY: THE COMPLETE SERIES will be available for the suggested retail price of $129.99 U.S. and $149.99 CAN. MORK & MINDY: THE FOURTH SEASON will also be released separately December 9 for the suggested retail price of $39.99 U.S. and $47.99 CAN.
