Well, it’s October and there’s not much going on, but there is one controversy stirring among wrestling nerds: The candidacy for Sting in the Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame.
OK, let’s break this down.
First up, he’ll probably go into the WWE Hall of Fame, because anyone who passes the Koko B. Ware Test (is he better than current WWE Hall of Famer Koko B. Ware?) is clearly worthy. But then the WWE Hall is more of a popularity contest and political/merchandising tool anyway.
Now, for those who aren’t hardcore wrestling nerds, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON) Hall of Fame is a more stringently-defined Hall, voted once a year by top historians and writers.
