Murtz On The Scene: Exclusive Interview With Degrassi‘s Sarah Fisher

We are counting down to Degrassi‘s 14th Season!

On July 29, I attended the Season 13 Finale Screening party at the MTV Building in downtown Toronto.

Just prior to screening the final two episodes of the season, I caught up with a variety of castmembers to discuss what would happen in the finale and to offer a preview of what to expect when the show returns next week.

I sat down with Sarah Fisher to talk about the online ‘relationship’ her character forged through a simulated computer game in Season 13. I also asked Sarah if she feels her character is slowly being corrupted. When Becky Baker first arrived at Degrassi, she was the personification of pure and seemed relatively innocent. Since that time, Becky’s boyfriend has died and when her brother was accused of sexual assault, she was forced to testify against him. We also talked about how Becky will attempt to repair her broken relationship with her parents in the new season. We also talk about whether the aftermath of the trial will result in a new friendship between Zoe and Becky (as Becky is solely responsible for Zoe getting the outcome she was seeking). Sarah offers up a preview of the new season and also reveals which other Degrassi character she would love to play for an episode.

Degrassi premieres on Tuesday October 28 at 9 p.m. on MTV
