UFC 179 Medical Suspensions: Phil Davis Potentially Out 6 Months Following Win Over Glover Teixeira

While Phil Davis won on Saturday, his victory over Glover Teixeira could force him out of action for an extended period of time.

The Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA) announced on Monday that two of the 22 UFC 179 fighters have been medically suspended for six months pending medical clearance after Saturday night’s fights. Phil Davis, needs doctors to clear his right hand before returning to the Octagon. Scott Jorgensen, who lost in the first round to Wilson Reis, could also be out for six months with a rib injury.
