Many in the MMA community have wondered whether Rory MacDonald would ever step inside the Octagon against fellow Canadian and mentor Georges St-Pierre. In a recent interview, MacDonald was once again asked the operative question and declined to answer clearly.
MacDonald appeared on yesterday’s edition of The MMA Hour where he was asked about GSP’s rumoured UFC return.
“He’s not even back, he’s just starting martial arts training again,” he said. “He’s got a long road ahead of him.”
While MacDonald did admit that he never took a blood oath to not fight St-Pierre, he still was elusive when pressed about whether the match would ever happen.
“Neither of us is the champ right now, and I’m going for the championship,” he said. “I’m going to take that belt, and no one’s going to stop me.”
