The Real Reason Rousey/Zingano Was Pushed To February? Zingano’s Back Injury Is The Culprit

News

While everyone seemed to have a theory about why Ronda Rousey’s title defence against Cat Zingano was pushed from January 3 to February 28, it appears there was a logical reason behind the move.

A report aired on UFC Tonight suggests that it was because the challenger needed more time to recover. Zingano’s camp revealed that their fighter had suffered a back injury, and wouldn’t have been ready for UFC 182 in Las Vegas on Jan. 3.

Though the fight was pushed, Zingano’s team says that her health has improved and are hoping for a full recovery in order to be ready for UFC 184 in Los Angeles on Feb. 28.
