Anthony Perosh Accepts Ovince St. Preux’s Challenge While MMA Community Is Left Scratching Their Collective Heads

After he took out ‘Shogun’ Rua in just 34 seconds over the weekend, many expected Ovince St. Preux to challenge someone in the light heavyweight division’s Top 10.

Instead, St. Preux decided to go in a different route.

“It is something I have to discuss with my coaches,” OSP said right after the win. “We have a couple of people in line: Fabio Maldonado and Anthony Perosh [laughs]. So, anybody.”

While the baffling challenge was criticized by many, it led to quick affirmative answers from both fighters mentioned as a win against St. Preux would certainly achieve a second look.

Maldonado accepted first via Twitter, and Perosh followed suit today via text message to MMAKanvas.

“Someone told me that [Fabio] Maldonaldo accepted already, but I will accept too,” he said.

“Well he’s in the top ten so of course [I think it’s a good match up], Perosh said. “[Ryan] Bader was able to take him down and control him for three rounds and I would have the same game plan,”
