At UFC 181 on Saturday Night, December 6, 2014, CM Punk announced that he has signed with UFC.
He described it as a “bucket list” type of thing, or something he really wanted to try once before he died. Punk noted that he felt it was “now or never” three years ago, but is going ahead with it anyway.
Punk said that Mixed Martial Arts is his new career, full steam ahead and it’s going to be fun.
He noted that he is thinking about which weight class and/or training camp to join but nothing has been decided. Punk noted that he thinks middleweight, maybe welterweightbut he won’t be fighting at light heavyweight.
