DVD News: Full Listing Of Destruction Of The Shield

Disc Announcements, News

We’ve given you the cover art and brief description of WWE’s anticipated February 2015 release of Destruction of The Shield. Plus, we teased some of the matches that were to be included. Now, we have a complete chapter listing of the documentary and the bonus matches that will be included. [Wrestling DVD News]

The documentary will reportedly run 10 minutes longer than the 56 minute “Journey to SummerSlam” doc that aired on the WWE Network. What those ten minutes will consist of is unknown, unless it could be in reference to the two deleted scenes (“The Dean Ambrose – William Regal Rivalry”, “Leakee”) that were listed as part of the bonuses found on the third DVD disc (second Blu-ray disc).

The breakdown of the Destruction of The Shield set is as followed. We begin with a documentary consisting of 31 chapters.

Okay, now that we got the listing out of the way, it’s time for a little real talk.

1) I like the inclusion of their work in FCW and NXT. It gives the release a nice Double-A-baseball-kind of feel, seeing the maturation of the three WWE superstars in front of a few hundred to hitting the ropes in front of thousands in arenas (and the millions watching at home).

2) Disappointed in some of the 6-Man tag matches that were picked. Back in May, before The Shield members forged new career paths, WWE.com did a feature on “The Shield’s 10 Best Six-Man Tag Team Matches.” Only two of the ten matches made it to the set. Granted, they were #2 and #3 on the list, but WWE could have had their #1 6-Man tag had they selected the better of the two Shield/Evolution tag encounters.

3) The Blu-ray extra of Reigns’ performance at Royal Rumble 2014 seems like a waste of space. I’m sure the exclusive will begin when he entered the match (at #15) and end when he’s eliminated (his time in the match was approximately 33:41). That time should have gone to something like the March 3rd Monday Night Raw with The Shield taking on The Wyatt Family, plus one of the Rollins/Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes/Goldust matches from fall 2013.

That’s my take. Post your comments below!
