What happened on Raw?

For Wrestlemania 30, the original plan was not to feature Daniel Bryan in the main events. Rather, the plan was for a Batista vs. Randy Orton title match, and Daniel Bryan in a mid-card match against Sheamus. Due to a variety of factors, including CM Punk leaving WWE, plans were changed.

This week, Daniel Bryan returned to action. Unlike in the past, he was booked strong, and that might indicate a change in plans heading into Wrestlemania 31. There has been concern both about Brock Lesnar’s contract status as well as Roman Reigns preparedness. Could Bryan again be triumphant at Wrestlemania, either over Brock Lesnar or Seth Rollins?

First on Monday Night Raw, he was in a segment with Stephanie McMahon, and was attacked by Kane. He got the upper hand in their brawl, and continued to attack several times after being pulled apart. This type of booking is usually reserved for top babyfaces.

The other top babyface candidates – Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose – are being booked in comedy segments and as support to Bryan.

At the Thursday Smackdown tapings as well as the rumored match for Fast Lane 2015 PPV also point to possible Bryan main event clues.

It will be very interesting to see how Raw and Smackdown are booked next week and how things play out at the Royal Rumble heading into Wrestlemania 31.
