Better Call Saul News: Bob Odenkirk Comments On What To Expect From Breaking Bad Spin-Off

News, Previews

As we approach the two-night series premiere of Better Call Saul on February 8 and 9, it’s time to shed a little more light on what to expect.

In a recent interview with Variety, the show’s star Bob Odenkirk and the series creator Vince Gilligan, sat down to preview one of the most anticipated series premieres of the new year.

The series premiere sees Saul Goodman introduced by his real name, Jimmy McGill a struggling lawyer who is trying to make ends meet. McGill doesn’t have an office yet and conducts his business in his beat-up car. We also meet Jimmy’s older brother Chuck (Michael McKean), a respected lawyer at an upscale firm who suffers from a condition that forces him to stay at home.

“It’s not like he’s stupid, but he has blind spots that are caused by his enthusiasms.”

Vince Gilligan on whether the show is a comedy or a drama.

“I was one of the first guys trying to put a ratio to it. But I was just kind of talking out of my ass. It really is its own thing.

“Like ‘Breaking Bad,’ … people who watch the show loosely, just sort of eating a ham sandwich or listening to the radio, will enjoy it. But the folks who watch it really closely and pay attention to little details and nuances will get rewarded.”
