Over on the Reddit Squared Circle, they had a great list of Royal Rumble facts from last year.

Bob Backlund holds the record for longest time in a single Rumble match without winning it. (1:01:10 in 1993)

The record for most superstars eliminating a single competitor from a Rumble match is 8. (Edge, Shelton Benjamin, CM Punk, Chris Benoit, Rob Van Dam, Johnny Nitro, Kevin Thorn, and Hardcore Holly eliminated Viscera in 2007)

Goldust was the first competitor to enter a Rumble match whose father (Dusty Rhodes) had also entered one.

Shawn Michaels has eliminated either a current or former tag team partner from a Royal Rumble match 3 times. [Diesel (1994 and 1996), Marty Jannetty (1994), and Triple H (2010)]

Shawn Michaels Rumble win in 1995 from the #1 position only lasted just under 39 minutes.

In 2005, Kurt Angle became the first competitor to appear in a world title match and a Royal Rumble match in the same night.

Goldust has been a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble match 3 times. (2002, 2006, 2013)

Big John Studd (1989), Mr. McMahon (1999), Brock Lesnar (2003), and Alberto Del Rio (2011) have all won the only Rumble match they’ve competed in.

Shawn Michaels was thrown over the top rope in 1996 by Vader, but was allowed to reenter the match. Michaels would go on to win.

Sabu is the only competitor to be eliminated from the Rumble match by going through a table. (Eliminated by Kane in 2007.)

Finlay is the only competitor to be disqualified by coming out before his number. (2008)

The Nation of Domination (1998) and The New Nexus (2011) both had 5 representatives in a single Rumble match. (The Rock, D’Lo Brown, Mark Henry, Kama Mustafa, and Faarooq for NOD. CM Punk, Husky Harris, Michael McGillicutty, David Otunga, and Mason Ryan for NN.)

“Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, Rikishi, and The Undertaker all drew #30 one year, and then drew #1 the very next year. (DiBiase in 1989 and 1990, Rikishi in 2001 and 2002, and The Undertaker in 2007 and 2008.)

“Macho Man” Randy Savage was the first competitor to no-show his entrant in a Rumble match. (1991)

The Undertaker (2003) is the only man to eliminate John Cena from a Rumble match to never face him at Wrestlemania. Big Show (2004) at WM XX and WM XXV, Batista (2005) at WM XXVI, Edge (2010) at XXV, and The Miz (2011) at WM XXVII.

In the 1995 and 1999 Rumble matches, the two competitors that drew #1 and #2 survived the whole match and were the final two. (Shawn Michaels and The British Bulldog in 1995, and Stone Cold Steve Austin and Mr. McMahon in 1999.)

Bret Hart (1994) was the first man born outside the United States to win the Rumble match. Yokozuna (1993) was billed from outside the US, but was born in California.

The first longevity record in a Rumble match belongs to Bret Hart in the 1988 Rumble at 25:42. Just to put it into perspective, John Cena spent 26:39 in the ring before winning in 2013.

Stone Cold Steve Austin (2001, 9:43), Brock Lesnar (2003, 8:59), John Cena (2008, 8:27), Edge (2010, 7:19), and Alberto Del Rio (2011, 9:33) all won a Rumble match while spending less than 10 minutes
in the ring. Edge holds the record for Rumble winner spending the least amount of time in the match.

“Hacksaw” Jim Duggan (1988), Big John Studd (1989), Ric Flair (1992), Yokozuna (1993), Lex Luger (1994), Mr. McMahon (1999), Brock Lesnar (2003), Chris Benoit (2004), and Alberto Del Rio (2011) all
won the first Rumble match they’ve competed in.

1993 was the first year the Royal Rumble winner earned a championship match at Wrestlemania.

Shawn Michaels once spent a whopping 12 seconds in a Rumble match. (1990)

The Undertaker has drawn #30 on 3 separate occasions. (1997, 2003, 2007)

Billed at 589 lbs., Yokozuna is the heaviest superstar to ever compete in a Rumble match.

At 25, Brock Lesnar is the youngest Royal Rumble match winner ever. (2003)

No ECW superstar has ever won the Royal Rumble. Yoshi Tatsu was the final ECW Rumble entrant, lasting 29 seconds in 2010.

Since his debut in 1995, Kane has competed in every Royal Rumble match except 1998 and 2012.
