Here is a report of the NXT House Show

The line of people stretched around the block an hour before doors even opened. Once the doors opened, the start of the show was delayed because there were still people coming into the building. The sold-out crowd was very vocal in support of the product.

The show opened with Jojo singing the national anthem. Corey Graves came out to hype up the crowd, and William Regal was there as well.

1. Tyler Breeze defeated Baron Corbin. The crowd was completely into Breeze, who won clean with his Beauty Shot.

2. Murphy (w/ Blake) over Simon Gotch (w/ Aiden English). The crowd booed Blake and Murphy big-time. Murphy got the roll-up win after a distraction. Gotch put Murphy in a cloverleaf afterwards, but ended up taking a beating from the tag champs. Enzo and Cass ran in to make the save and did some damage to Blake and Murphy in the process.

3. Rhyno beat Kalisto. Rhyno won with the Gore.

4. Hideo Itami pinned Tyson Kidd. This was a great match which Itami won with his high-speed single-leg dropkick. Itami once again teased the Go 2 Sleep to a monster pop.

Intermisison.

5. Sasha Banks won a four-way involving Charlotte, Bayley, and Alexa Bliss. This match was awesome. The finish came when Banks stole the pin on Charlotte after Bayley hit the Bayley-to-Belly.

6. Cesaro over Finn Bálor. Not surprisingly, this match was excellent. Cesaro won with a roll-up.

Sami Zayn came out and cut a promo hyping up NXT. He said the wrestlers and the fans were starting a revolution.

7. Kevin Owens beat Adrian Neville. This one was good, not great.

Notes: This show was fantastic. It had the energy of an old ECW show but with a much better in-ring product. The crowd wasn’t there to get themselves over, they were there to passionately support the show. The only guys who the crowd didn’t seem into were Corbin, Blake, and Murphy, otherwise everyone was super over with the crowd. The last five matches were more-or-less main event caliber matches, which made for a great night of wrestling. This was one of the top three shows I’ve ever attended. Also worth mentioning that they talked about touring more and specifically said they’d be returning to Cleveland again down the road.
