Update On Wacky Sting Voice On Monday Night Raw Promo

You won’t really believe what they were thinking…

Some of you youngsters might not know this, but I cut my teeth here on the internet as a WCW Thunder recapper on 411 way back in 1998.

And between then and the end of WCW in 2001, I took on the nickname WCWidro for being one of the only people in the IWC that was pro-WCW. I guess kinda like TNA Insider today.

Anyway, WWE had a wacky voice setting on Sting’s Raw promo.

According to the Wrestling Observer, the idea was to use the same or similar effect to the Black Scorpion, a character in WCW in the early 1990s.

Apparently WWE creative was confused, because the Black Scorpion was actually Sting’s RIVAL, a masked tormenter, who was later revealed to be Ric Flair.
