Secret Wars 2015: Five Of Last Nine Books Revealed?! Two Series Involving X-Men & Avengers Dumped? With Marvel Comics Spoilers!

News

Marvel Comics recently released an updated Battleworld map identifies forty-four (44) comics series that will be parts of Secret Wars 2015. Only nine were yet to be announced as per the map graphic.

Secret Wars Battleworld Map UPDATED

As of last week, thirty-nine (39) series have been confirmed with five (5) to go.

Since then, three (3) series have been formally announced by Marvel, one (1) series has been confirmed by Marvel’s EIC, but not formally announced with a creative team, and one (1) final series appears to have been leaked by the book’s artist.

The three formally announced series are:

Secret Wars 2015 X-Men Days vs Years of Future Past Secret Wars 2015 Iron Man Armor Wars Secret Wars 2015 X-Men '92 Confirmed

The two remaining series to be formally announced with bells, whistles and creative teams:

Secret Wars 2015 Spider-Man Renew Your Vows All New Avengers Now Secret Wars Summer 2015 Marvel Then X-Men Age of Apocalypse

Artist Leinil Yu’s weekend twitter (below) got fandom in a tizzy. Many think his comments about his next mini including big shoulder pads as a reference to 1990’s Marvel. Of the previously announced Marvel series, that would appear to signal X-Men Age of Apocalypse.

That said, the last two have yet to be announced with creative teams.

There is also the confusing status of the remaining two series below that Marvel teased last Fall, but mathematically don’t appear part of Secret Wars 2015’s forty-four series:

  • X-Men: House of M
  • Avengers: Civil War

All-New Avengers Now Secret Wars Summer 2015 Marvel Then House of M All-New Avengers Now Secret Wars Summer 2015 Marvel Then Civil War

That would mean that all, but these two series, of the thirteen event redux announced last Fall, are proceeding. The above two series appear to have been dumped by Marvel if the Battleworld’s map indication of only forty-four series to be part of Secret Wars 2015 is accurate.

It appears Marvel Comics plans to announce the remaining series this week along with their creative teams.
