Secret Wars 2015 New 52 Banner

To date Marvel Comics has announced a whopping 50 tie-in series for Secret Wars 2015 in June and July 2015 along with the cancellation of 33 series. The announcements so far:

With the six (6) July 2015 series announced and the forty-four (44) for June 2015, the running count of Secret Wars 2015 tie-in series was last at fifty (50). With the recent further two (2) announcements Marvel Comics hits their own New 52 for Secret Wars since DC Comics won’t being using that branding after Convergence anyway. ;)

So, Marvel Comics Secret Wars 2015 The New 52 consist of the two recently announced tie-ins:

  • The X-Men’s House of M teased and now confirmed will be written by Dennis Hopless with art by Kris Anka.
  • The Avengers’ Siege written by Kieron Gillen, Felipe Andrade with various artists.

Both of the above revisit the previous names of classic Marvel events.

House of M was a 2005 X-Men event that Marvel describes as When the Scarlet Witch alters reality, the Avengers and X-Men face a world like none they’ve ever known! Writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Olivier Coipel re-imagine the Marvel Universe with Magneto bringing mutantkind to prominence in an eight-issue event. As the only person who remembers how things used to be, can Wolverine set things right? Should he?

Siege was originally a 2009/10 Avengers event that Marvel describes as When Norman Osborn gathers his evil Cabal to attack Asgard, Captain America leads the Avengers to end the Dark Reign! In a four-issue event written by Brian Michael Bendis with art by Olivier Coipel, Earth’s Mightiest reunite to oppose their dark counterparts and kick start a Heroic Age!

So, will Marvel Comics stop at making their Secret Wars 2015 event one with the New 52 number of tie-ins to put a thumb in DC’s eyes or are more tie-ins coming?
