Along with this week’s Convergence #3, Convergence Hawkman #1 (that continues the hero’s Shadow War) and Convergence Green Lantern Corps #1 (from the classic Green Lantern era pencilled by Dave Gibbons and later Joe Staton) with more information on them here, we also have the revisiting of Justice League Detroit in Justice League America #1.
Spoilers follow. You have been warned.
From the core Convergence weekly mini-series, heading into Convergence #3, here’s what had led up to this week:
Ok, ready? Here are the teaser images from DC Comics of Convergence Justice League America #1.
While this preview is interesting, I’m curious why DC Comics called the book Justice League America as opposed to Justice League of America? The “of” was part of the team’s name after all when it featured the Detroit based Justice League. The whole Justice League International, Justice League America, Justice League Europe, etc. minus “of” was used in the next iteration of the Justice League after the classic 1980’s Legends mini-series.
I would recommend picking up those last issues of the Justice League of America, issues #258 to #261, and the Legends mini-series, available in trade paperback form, if you’re interested in this iteration of the Justice League.
Thanks for reading. All feedback welcome.
Happy New Comics Day!
