Spoilers ahead.

Hydra is experimenting on enhanced people. And we learn they, through Strucker, experimented on “the twins”. This appears to refer to Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch who join the Avengers or at least fight alongside them against the forces of Ultron in Age of Ultron.

Maria Hill, former SHIELD agent and Iron Man employee, meets with Agent Coulson at the end of the episode.

Loki’s mind control scepter appears back in play; it can control minds and it “killed” Coulson in the first Avengers film.

Theta protocol means its time to bring in the Avengers.

Raina also has visions of Ultron and his mechanized minions battling and changing the world.

It is all connected? There has to be more than this after it was so hyped – the connection between ABC & Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD TV and the Avengers 2 Age of Ultron movie.

I’m still excited to see the film, but am underwhelmed by the “connection” with the Agents of SHIELD TV episode.
